The Greenwells Fly Fishing Club (GFFC), in conjunction with the Victorian DPI Fisheries through a small fishing events grant, will host a ‘Come and Try Fly Fish Casting Session’ at Sumsion Gardens, Wodonga on Sunday 7 August 2011. This is GFFC’s second‘Come and Try’ event, with the possibility of making it an annual fixture on the Club’s calendar. This event is to give participants the basic skills and information needed to spark an interest in the fly fishing form of angling.

The use of all equipment and tackle is provided free of charge with the fun starting at 9.00 am and concluding at 2:00 pm. The event is open to all over the age of 12 however children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Soft drinks will be free of charge, although food will not be available at the venue.

The casting instruction will be presented by Internationally Qualified casting instructors. They will assist participants with various casting styles and techniques that will help new comers with the essentials of fly casting and make casting with a fly rod more efficient and less strenuous.
