Study on fishing facilities and locations.

Fisheries Victoria would like to invite you to participate in a study on fishing facilities and locations.

TNS Social Research is currently conducting a study on behalf of Fisheries Victoria to help identify the types of facilities and locations that Victorian recreational fishers are most likely to need along the coast in the future. In 2009, Fisheries Victoria and a number of recreational fishers identified the need for a comprehensive study of Victorian coastal recreational fishing facilities outside of Port Phillip Bay and Western Port.

This is an opportunity for you to have a say in this important study. The study will assess existing levels and likely future needs and the economic and social benefits that might be achieved by developing new facilities.

Your participation is extremely important to ensure that a full range of views are reflected in this study. Please be assured that your response will remain confidential and you will not be identified at the individual level. The survey is being carried out in compliance with the Information Privacy Act 2009.

The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. If you would like to verify the validity of this study or if you have any technical difficulties when answering, please email Camilla Lee at

Camilla.Lee@tnsglobal.com or call 03 8862 5900.

Please click on the link below to start the survey. This will take you to a secure website.

The following is from Tom White regards the above document:

"Hello all,

This is the _final_ chance to have your say on this matter.

Once this goes in, there will be no more opportunities to comment on, or have changes made to it.

Please read it and forward any submissions/comments you may have to _both_ Anthony Plummer (_anthony.plummer@dpi.vic.gov.au_

<mailto:anthony.plummer@dpi.vic.gov.au>) and Mick Hall (kossiedun@gmail.com <mailto:kossiedun@gmail.com>).

If you don't like something in it, say so now. If you don't bother now, then please don't complain about it later once it becomes law.

A lot of work has gone into it by many and it deserves a little bit of your time now for the benefit to all of us, of our future inland fishery.

Regards,

*_Tom White_*

(President - YVFF)     (Secretary - ATF)"

Also attached are draft comments from Philip Weigall – use this to form your responses to the Inland Waters Classification proposal.

These proposals should be discussed at the general meeting on Wednesday night, after the Annual General Meeting.
